Big Year Forecast for Reclosers in China
NOJA Power's office in Beijing reports the OSM recloser is quickly gaining market share in China.
Significant contracts have been awarded to NOJA Power including key industry organisations such as the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Many of the installations have involved automation and the use of communications protocols such as MODBUS and DNP3. Common applications have included substation automation and feeder protection.
Helmut Rebstock, Managing Director China, said their success was due to the high quality and reliability of the OSM recloser. Customer evaluations have resulted in positive appraisals and subsequent installations.

Another factor was the excellent service supplied by NOJA Power during commissioning, especially in regards to communications integration and protocol setup.
A lot of interest has been shown in the unique features of the OSM such as its light weight, embedded protocols, and overall flexibility. Mr Rebstock said that NOJA Power's reclosers were well suited to the requirements of electrical utilities in China and will continue to gain acceptance in the future.
